Ethimo Rotin collection: An unconventional street aesthetic
Sep 7, 2021
We continue our story that outdoor furniture is not just about rattan, steel and aluminium.
For example, the Italian factory Ethimo is anticipating the trends of 2022 with its Rotin collection. The line has been developed in collaboration with Zanellato/Bortotto and comprises a sofa, armchairs, a pouffe and a coffee table. The inspiration comes from the Asian tradition, which the designers have combined with technical innovation and high-performance drainage materials. Rotin boasts an unusual aesthetic, combining a concise style with the most traditional materials such as pickled teak and sea rope.
Rotin has become the first range in the Ethimo catalogue to be made entirely with technical structural upholstery: high-quality materials and fabrics give shape to the seat structure itself. "Tubes" of warm pickled teak are connected by sea rope and cover the seats, accentuating their contours and defining the structure of the coffee tables.

The collection reinterprets the seating area and outdoor living in a completely new way. In it, the designers play with bold and vivid colours, unique patterns and original craftsmanship to create a timeless exterior.
The coffee table tops are characterised by creative use of colour and unique patterns. They are handcrafted in enamelled terracotta, stone marble or cement and create beautiful compositions inspired by the Palladian technique. The original combination of these "details" in stone is due to the use of three types of marble (Green Guatemala, Cipollino and Bardiglio) and the cement mortar passing between them to create elegant geometric patterns.
In its new collection, Ethimo offers furniture that combines Mediterranean flair with functional design. This is a fresh, vibrant collection which embodies the perfect balance of style, ergonomics and comfort.
