Salone del Mobile 2014: Missoni's updated Home collection

Apr 18, 2014

At the Milan furniture show, the Italian brand Missoni presented its updated Home collection. New energy, symbols and signs, a whirlwind of patterns. A rich ornamentation that gives the furniture a modern vision. Cool tones, flowing lines and linear graphics radiating energy and transmitting it to both large and small spaces. The Home collection, designed by Rosita Missoni, embodies the magic of infinite interaction that links furniture and fashion.

Artistic fabrics. Amazing silk jacquards, similar to modern watercolour tapestries, plus seamless and quilted fabrics. Soft velvet, printed cotton, plumb tulle and sloppy macramé. Modern, beautiful embroidery. Patina over digital prints and knitwear elements. Everything is traditionally handmade.

Interior moulds. Soft furnishings: cushions, poufs, rugs, fabric panels. Expertly matched sofas, chairs, lamps and low tables. The textures of the materials alternate and contrast with other elements such as leather, PVC or wood, to create a very attractive effect. New additions to the collection include stunning sofas upholstered in watercolour fabrics, leather sofas in classic shades and poufs in geometric shapes. The chairs "dressed" in patchwork fabrics are particularly striking, as are the round open chairs with leather lacing. Unusual pieces include lamps made from woolen yarn and sculptural chaise lounges.

A play on colour. Unruly, endless metamorphosis. "Fruit and vegetable" colours, enchanting natural hues - from sand and white coral to deep, crystal-clear blues and blues. A play of shadows and light, intense watercolours and enamels together with vibrant folk-tones. A fusion of rich, delicate and shaded tones and classic black and white combinations.
