White filled literally the entire Baxter stand at Maison & Objet 2014 in Paris, a brand new installation by internationally renowned designer Paola Navone. Natural white. Glossy white. Matte white. It exudes exquisite beauty, visible from afar.
It is interesting to realise that all the pieces in the collection have arrived here after a very long journey and have taken in a piece of life from all the countries they have travelled through. Baxter leather, as always, is the soul of the collection. It undergoes complex processing until it becomes incredibly soft - a secret known only to Baxter.
In the new collection, the leather takes on different shapes and new textures. In one case it is smooth, shiny and supple. In another, it's wrinkled, like a cloth. And on the other it 'spreads' like velvet or has an unusual print.
All together, the objects of the collection form a fantastic series, where fairy tale and the past, enchantment and irony live together. Paola Navone's creation for Baxter.
