Baxter on Supersalone: An intriguing new collection

Nov 30, 2021

A host of star designers have worked on the new Baxter collection. The line designed by Christophe Delcourt is the most intriguing and probably the one that attracted the most attention during Supersalone. The adept of French design has come up with upholstered furniture with organic shapes that can be easily and harmoniously combined with each other.

The centrepiece of the line is the modular Clara sofa. It is composed of soft rounded elements (with or without backrests) from which various spatial compositions can be assembled. Alongside the sofa, the line includes Fany sculptural tables and consoles with glass tops and travertine legs, the Keren pouffe armchair and Beki poufs shaped like boulders.

Draga & Aurel are presenting this year's Barret armchair. Its design is inspired by the style of 1970s furniture with its hard plastic body and soft leather upholstery. The armchair envelops the person sitting on all sides like a cocoon, so you do not want to get out of it.

Other new additions to the duo are Hugo shelving unit made of concrete, asymmetric chest of drawers Altea (available in three colours) and brass-framed mirror Arles - an exquisite addition to any interior. The collection is completed by a new version of the Brigitte sofa, which this year is presented in a harder leather, giving the model a more vintage and 'shabby' look.

The collection was shown to the public for the first time in the Baxter Cinema showroom in Milan as part of the Fuori Salone. Each of the designers brought a different perspective and outlook to it. But despite the diversity of their concepts, they share a common approach to design and thoughtful, unconventional work with space, which is why we love Baxter so much.
