Baxter: Inspired by archaic architecture

Sep 8, 2021

The Italian factory Baxter and the designers Studiopepe have many collaborative collections. They are all inspired by archaic architecture with its atypical sculptural forms.

And it was decided to show the iconic pieces in France in the Genius Loci project. In Roman times, this Latin expression meant guardian spirits of the home, but designers at Studiopepe have rethought the philosophy and perceived Genius Loci as the soul of the home, including the relationship between people and their relationship to life.

The scenography of the project includes the Lazybones armchair, the Zefir chair, the Verre Particulier coffee tables, and the custom-made Thalatha and Jupiter tables made especially for this interior.

Archetypal shapes and totemic volumes amaze visitors and create the magic of space. Visually, the Lazybones armchair, for example, appears to be made up of two separate elements: a pouffe on two legs and a backrest with one central support. In fact, it's a stylishly designed unit upholstered in leather. The Zefir chair is no less original, with a brushed lacquered metal base and an unusual T-shaped backrest resting on the floor.

The exhibition is available for viewing at the Coutume {Studio} showroom, 46, rue Laufaurie de Monbadon, 33000 Bordeaux, France.

You can buy Baxter furniture in Belarus from the official representative New Studio at 12, Nemiga, 2nd floor, Minsk.
