Kitchen of the week: Atlante from the Italian factory L'Ottocento
Oct 24, 2021
Who says the kitchen is no place for artistic experimentation? The Italian factory L'Ottocento showcases a model created under the motto 'Wood is a new black'. The aim of the project is to bring wood back to its rightful place, highlighting the beauty and naturalness of this noble material.
The Atlante kitchen range focuses on the materials used and their sustainability. The design combines elements of classical and modernity, creating a new interior solution to meet the demands of a dynamic life.
The highlight is the innovative induction heating technology. The Lapitec worktop has an integrated concealed cooktop, which makes it possible to cook on the table top using a special cooking mat.

The compact "dining table + island" combination increases the convenience and ergonomics of the space. Both the island and the central niche are decorated with the exquisite Alpi Wood finish. The latter is a veneer with a moiré effect and was developed by Italian design guru Ettore Sottsass. Behind the elongated island, the manufacturer suggests placing the new Archetipo bar stools with removable Rubelli fabric cushion.

The numerous appliances, the kitchen cabinet and the wine cabinet are hidden behind the Italian walnut boiserie panels. Following the Total Home concept, the living room can be "clad" with this system of wall panels. The complete furnishing of Atlante provides plenty of scope for personalisation: the arrangement of the alcoves, shelving and internal doors can be combined as desired. One thing is certain: the sophisticated yet cosy atmosphere created by the L'Ottocento artisans.
