Milan Furniture Show 2014: record interest in made in Italy
Apr 1, 2014
The 2014 Milan Furniture Show ended with a record +13% of visitors. "We worked hard to make our show the most beautiful in the world and the result exceeded all our expectations," say the show's organisers.
From the opening hours of the Milan Furniture Show it was clear that it was going to be a resounding success: not a single empty pavilion and visitors from literally all over the world - 160 countries. There are 357,212 officially registered visitors to the show, of which 311,781 are architectural and design professionals.
"We have worked hard to make our fair the most beautiful in the world, and the result has exceeded our expectations. Buyers, designers and journalists saw with their own eyes the excellence of products made in Italy and appreciated the importance of the fair on an international, global level - which is precisely the status it holds today," say the fair's organizers.
The success of the showroom is not only in the quantity but also in the quality of displayed novelties. Leading furniture companies showcased in their collections the beauty of Italy, which produces, creates, invents and strives to regain its place on the domestic market and in the international arena. The world's famous designers are keen to work with Italian brands, considering them the best in the world.
"Now it is up to the Italian brands to step up work in their markets, improving marketing, sales channels, working with clients. Today their market is the whole world, and the Milan Furniture Show is the perfect showcase for those who know how and want to work and make money," believes Claudio Luti, president of the Milan show.
The 2014 Salon was also marked by effective interaction directly with Milan, the capital of design and creativity. More than 100 students from Milan's design schools interacted with the Salon's guests at key points in the city. Free admission to national museums, exhibitions directly at Milan's landmarks and other events were a perfect complement to the furniture show.
"The current show is a dress rehearsal for World Expo 2015" - says president Claudio Luti - "It's an event that shows the world what Milan is all about and what Italy is all about. We are already preparing for the 2015 Expo, which will be the starting point of a chain of world exhibitions for the following year.
