Pedrali: New trends in the office environment
Mar 22, 2021
A new reality - new offices.
The Italian company Pedrali proposes to completely change the office context. The Working Spaces 2020 collection anticipates previously unknown business scenarios and easily adapts to them.
SOLUTION #1: A dynamic office that can easily be personalised and changed according to current tasks.
Meeting rooms are reorganised into individual cubicles with partitions that guarantee acoustic and visual privacy. An example is the Toa table designed by Robin Rizzini. The model can be used in both informal offices and management offices and is equally successful as a desk, meeting table or conference table.

Another smart office desk is the Arki-Table (added to the Arki family along with the Arki-desk and Arki-Bench). The model is height-adjustable and allows you to work both sitting and standing. In addition, it is equipped with a soundproof panel, which creates a comfortable boundary between the tables.

The third innovation from the Italian factory is Ypsilon Connect, a universal, self-supporting partition designed by Jorge Pensi. In addition to its basic function of space separation and sound absorption, Ypsilon Connect extends its range with a host of accessories: a magnetic whiteboard, shelves and coat hooks, as well as a monitor attachment.

SOLUTION #2: Protecting human health (through innovative materials as well as distance and alternative design approaches) is becoming a central focus of all design thinking.
Pedrali, for example, offers Toa folding screen (design by Robin Rizzini), a practical and functional sound-absorbing partition panel. Lightweight and foldable, with a removable cover, the unit is easy to clean and can be used to create single 1m U-shaped workspaces; two spaces by selecting an S-shaped configuration; or extending a single workspace up to 1.5m, resulting in an L-shaped configuration. Applying the same logic, you can also personalise the space by combining several panels with each other.

SOLUTION #3: Create cosy private spaces within the office, where you can relax and enjoy the aesthetic component.
An example would be the Buddy and Buddy Hub upholstered furniture collections made by Pedrali and conceived by the design trio Manuela Buzetti, Andrea Garuti and Matteo Redaelli. The collections include sofas and armchairs with covering sound absorbing panels.
In addition to attractive design, one of the designers' priorities was seating comfort: the polyurethane foam supported by elastic straps provides seating comfort, while the cushions provide ergonomic support for the back. "It took several prototypes, phases and adjustments to find the right upholstery, as well as developing a mounting system for the sound absorbing panels," say the creators of the collection. The system developed provides a seamless aesthetic. Customers choose from a wide range of fabrics and colours to create an individual style in the interior. Also two sofas or two armchairs can be placed opposite each other in the so-called booth, the sets are complemented by a special table.

Lovers of cosy offices should also consider the Temps Low Back armchair. It has a striking feature - a height-adjustable base made of die-cast aluminium. Thanks to a special synchronised mechanism, the angle of inclination automatically adjusts to the weight. The polypropylene casing encircles the seat and supports the sitter's lower back for comfort and ergonomics. Without a doubt, for the home office Temps low back is the ideal seat.
