GLOSTER Ambient street lights win Red Dot Award

Jul 20, 2017

The Ambient collection of streetlights, designed by fashion designer Henrik Pedersen for the English brand Gloster, has been awarded the world's most prestigious Red Dot Award.

Ambient is not the designer's first product to garner Gloster's professional acclaim. Two years ago Henrik Pederson was also ahead of over 5,000 entries from over 50 countries to win the award for the product Gloster Grid - an ecological and comfortable sofa for outdoor spaces.

Grid designer Henrik Pedersen works in a Danish design studio that focuses on 'lifestyle design'. He was trained as a fashion designer in 1990, but works in various fields of design with an emphasis on ergonomic product. His interest in the exact sciences and his experience in different design fields allow him to immediately assess how successful a new design will be. "Knowledge and experience are very important, but the most important thing is to use them correctly. Inner intuition and a passion for what he does are essential ingredients for success," Pedersen says, commenting on his work.

He has designed more than 20 collections of outdoor furniture for Gloster, including Bay, Bells, Bepal, Crandle, Grid, Tray, Voyager and others.

GLOSTER exterior products are handmade and passed through a careful quality control. All furniture is resistant to conditions in the harshest climatic zones, including being adapted to variable temperate climates with critical temperature fluctuations, humidity and a host of other factors. "Made for life" is the motto of Henrik Pedersen and the English factory GLOSTER.
