15 Italian factories at IMM Cologne: It's worth seeing!

We are all particularly fond of New Year's traditions. And for designers, architects and interior designers, it is a tradition to visit themed fairs every year, the first of which are already taking place in January. We are talking, of course, about the Cologne-based Imm Cologne Forum and the Paris version of – Maison & Objet.

Both – the largest furniture trade fairs on an international level, showcase the season's new products and future developments. However, it is often difficult to set the right accents and, bypassing the many debutants, to see the most worthwhile stands. That is why we have compiled the most interesting Italian manufacturers' displays at IMM Cologne for you. The best of the season – in one piece: check it out!

1. Cassina The 90th anniversary of the Fauteuil Grand Confort collection, once designed with the help of the great Le Corbusier, is an occasion to reinterpret a classic. The current collection bears the name LC3 and Cassina is the official manufacturer of this original collection, under licence from the Le Corbusier Foundation.

2. The Baxter stand looks both elegant and brutal. The results of the experimentation with leather are framed by accessories in brass and porcelain.

3. Riva 1920, which prides itself on luxury solid wood furniture, continues to develop the range launched in Milan last year. The collection “Authentic Living” was created in collaboration with car manufacturer Lamborghini and designer Karim Rashid. 9. The stand B&B Italia justifies its status as one of the world leaders in the development of cutting-edge furniture. As innovators and perfectionists, it was the company's employees who once pioneered the use of polyurethane padding in upholstered furniture and were the first to raise a sofa above the floor on sophisticated legs. 10. Living Divani, is known to produce more than just sofas, although they are very good at the latter! For example, two new products designed for the outdoors were also worth a look at at the exhibition in Cologne. They are the ultra-light Flow rocking chair and the Daydream sofa from Italian-Japanese duo Noa Ikeuchi and Tommaso Nani.

11. Kartell invited all guests in Cologne to its flagship showroom, as it was here that the ironic new products from designer Fabio Novembre were unveiled. The EUR chair, Lantern lamps and cylindrical nightstands with Componibili Smile drawers were on show.

15. The current 50s and 60s – style is undoubtedly Porada's trademark, which it has proven once again with the presentation of The Seventeen collection in Cologne.
