IMM Cologne 2018: Germany's first furniture show of the season has kicked off!
Jan 19, 2018
These days, from 15 to 21 January 2018, the international furniture exhibition IMM Cologne is taking place in Cologne. The event is one of the first in a cycle, followed by the Paris (January) and Milan (April) furniture forums. However, Cologne gives an impetus for the whole season, states the latest achievements in design ideas and trends, which will form the basis for development of the furniture sector in the near future.
Traditionally, Italian brands are also well represented at the Cologne fairgrounds. In 2018, the companies Baxter, B&B Italia, Cassina, Flexform, Living Divani, MDF, Minotti, Molteni, Pedrali, Poliform, Poltrona Frau and Verzelloni will be exhibiting here.
The Italian factory Flexform equipped an exhibition space in the centre of which a picturesque winter garden comes to life, and around it there are several halls with various collections. The company continues to work within the 'At last, home' concept and offers its clientele straightforward, yet high-quality and comfortable upholstered furniture. Thus, modular sofas Adda and Este, tables Zefiro and Monreale, ottoman armchairs Tosca, a bed Newbridge, and a cabinet with a bookcase Taylor are on display.
The colour palette changes slightly. The traditional pastel shades are now joined by shades of forest green, aquamarine, rust, and lilac pink. But the company is in no hurry to reveal all the secrets, because this year the biggest furniture forum in Italy will open very soon: this year from 17 to 22 April.
The IMM Cologne international furniture fair was founded in Germany in 1949 and has been attracting exhibitors from all over the world every year since. The previous year, 1,360 companies from 50 countries exhibited at the 280,000-square-metre show, while LivingKitchen 2017 attracted 200 exhibitors from 21 countries. At the same time, a record 150,000 visitors were recorded, more than half of them from outside Germany. The 2018 show is not yet over, but the threshold of 120,000 visitors has already been crossed and a new record is expected to be recorded, testifying to the public's interest in Cologne.
New Studio is the official representative of the Italian Flexform brand in Belarus.
